Michael Tessin - Certified Residential Appraiser

I am a native of Marin County.  I attended Redwood High School in Larkspur and later U.C. Davis.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development from UCD in 1979. Following graduation, I spent the next seven years supervising a residential treatment program for abused and neglected kids and later in the ski industry operating marketing, publishing and tour businesses in Lake Tahoe and Canada.

I began appraising in Marin County in 1986 and started Michael Tessin & Associates in 1990. I obtained my California Real Estate Broker’s License that same year.

Unlike many appraisal business that “appraise anywhere”, my focus is Marin County.  My extensive knowledge of the area, my experience with its history, nuances and complexities as well as a private database compiled over the past 20 years has allowed me to provide my clients quality reports with dependable and reliable service.

I specialize in high value, complex residential property.

Shari Bell – Appraiser Trainee

Shari is also a Marin native.  She attended Marin Catholic High School and later Sonoma State University where she received her degree in Business Administration.  Shari went on to obtain an M.B.A. from Golden Gate University in 1984.  Shari sold Real Estate in Marin from 1986 through 1993. Shari’s extended family has 3 generations of experience in residential and commercial construction in Marin County.  Shari is accumulating her experience credits and is actively involved in all aspects of the business.  Shari has been working with me as an invaluable assistant and friend since 1998.
